Soni Devi Yadav

A Hindi-speaking woman named Soni Devi Yadav, approximately 36 years old, was rescued from Sealdah Station on 09/05/2024. At the time of rescue, she was wearing a nightdress, which was completely wet. From her speech and manner of communication, it appeared that she had an educational background.

When spoken to at length, she would become aggressive and attempt to hit others with a brick. She used to bathe three to four times a day. Subsequently, medical treatment was started. Over time, gradual improvement was observed in her condition.

She also used to be stubborn and insistent about various issues, but this behavior gradually decreased. She responded very well to counseling sessions and group activities, which further contributed to her improvement. In addition, she was given responsibilities related to home therapy, such as participating in household chores.

In the later stage, she was able to clearly state her home address. It was learned that she had previously studied nursing and had completed an Honours degree in Biology. Due to mental health issues, she had reached Kolkata. Her home is in Patna, Bihar.

Later, with the assistance of the police, contact was established with her family, and her brothers came to the institution. On 01/03/2025, they responsibly took her back home. At present, she is doing very well. We regularly send her medications and continue follow-up.
