A VIEW moved to its current location at Jibantala, South 24 Parganas in 2014. Since then, we have gradually built our self-sufficient eco-village.Today, the campus includes housing for 16 residents, a separate wing for independent-ready residents, an urban independent-living unit, quarters for resident staff, temporary rooms for visiting professionals, community clinics, a kitchen, and farming huts.
A Village for Independent and Enterprising Women (A VIEW) is an unlocked residential rehabilitation model unit for destitute women with mild to moderate psychiatric illness, where residents can find community and hope, learn survival and skills, and eventually become independent and able to earn a living. We believe that these women can recover their dignity and become self-sufficient if they receive proper medication and care.
Simple principles that shape every action at A VIEW

At A VIEW, we believe these women can recover their dignity and become self-sufficient when provided with proper medication, care, and training in a suitable trade.

At our eco-village, residents receive a stable, compassionate environment to consent to treatment, relearn self-care, live with dignity, and acquire marketable skills.

We encourage residents to apply their skills for self-reliance, support new enterprises, and work toward family reunification where conditions allow.
