A 28-year-old woman named Mamata Oraon was admitted to the AVIEW organization, located near Jibantala Berer Khal, on 21-05-2024 by her elder brother and sister-in-law from Dakshin Dinajpur for the purpose of treatment and rehabilitation.
At the time of admission, the patient’s physical and mental condition was not satisfactory. Her hair was severely matted, and she appeared somewhat unclean. In the initial stage, she was unwilling to take medication, and with the assistance of several staff members, she was administered medicines in a somewhat forced manner.
The patient frequently said, “Remove the poison from my body,” which indicated the presence of delusions. At times, she would sing to herself, and symptoms of hallucinations were also observed.
Within a few days of regular medication and treatment, the patient gradually began to recover. She started performing some daily activities on her own, and her mental condition showed steady improvement.
After her condition improved significantly, the organization contacted her family members. Finally, on 16-10-2025, Mamata Oraon was taken back home by her elder brother, sister-in-law, and a few other gentlemen.
At present, she is doing very well, and regular follow-up is being conducted.
